Hearing the Voice of God
(Mark 4:21-25)
I. God
desires that we come to a full knowledge of the truth.
Hearing will set us free.
A. You can
never know the truth until you hear from God
(John 8:31-32).
B. You can
not experience genuine faith without hearing the voice of God in His word.
So then faith comes by hearing and
hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).
C. The
Spirit is communicated through speaking and received through hearing.
He
that ministers to you the Spirit and works miracles among you, does he do it by
the works of the law or the “hearing of faith” (Galatians 3:5)?
This only would I learn of you, Received you the Spirit by the works of
the law or the “hearing of faith” (Gal. 3:2)?
II. The
development of the hearing ear (Proverbs
20:12).
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the
LORD hath made even both of them.
A. You need
to cut off the voices you do not need to hear and tune in the ones you do.
There are it may be, so many kinds
of voices in the world and none of them is without signification ( 1 Corinthians 14:10).
Cease my son to hear the instruction that causes to err
from the words of knowledge. Pro 19:21
B. You need
to spend quality time alone with God, His word & obey… (Isaiah 50:3-5).
The Lord GOD hath given me the
tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him
that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as
the learned. The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious,
neither turned away back.
Hear instruction, and be wise, and
refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates,
waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall
obtain favour of the LORD (Proverbs 8:33-35).
C. In the
end your decision to pay attention to His voice will determine your life.
And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure of thought and
study you give to the truth you hear will be the measure of virtue and
knowledge] that comes back to you--and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.
III.
And the Spirit and the bride say, come. And let him that
heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come and whosoever will, let him
come and take the water of life (Rev. 22:17).
