The Christmas Message
(Luke 2:8-20)
I. The message to the shepherds.
Casting all your care upon him;
for He careth for you.
(1 Peter 5:7).
But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be
of good comfort, when I know your state.
For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your
state. For all seek their own, not
the things which are Jesus Christ’s.
(Philippians 2:19-21).
B. God will speak to those who hear.
For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest;
neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
Take heed therefore how ye hear:
for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from
him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to
have.
(Luke 8:17-18).
C. God will send those who will go.
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send,
and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I send me.
(Isaiah 6:8)
II. The message from the angel.
A. Fear not
(Deut. 20:3; Psalms 27:3; 46:2 and
Isaiah 41:10)
B. God has sent your savior
(John 3:16-18).
C. Glory to God in the
highest (1 Corinthians 10:31).
D.Peace on earth
(Romans 5:1; Philippians
4:6-7).
E. Good will to men
(Jeremiah 29:11; Romans
12:1-2).
III. What is the response that God is
waiting for in the human heart?
A. They were filled
with wonder at the message of the child.
vs. 18.
B. They kept the
words of the message in their heart.
vs. 19.
They were filled with joy, praise and
made known abroad the message.
vs. 17 and 20
