The Beginning of the End (Matthew 24:1-44)

I.  The beginning of sorrows (birth pains) according to Jesus.

A.  The appearance of false prophets claiming to be Christ (vs. 5).

B.  Wars and rumors of wars (vs. 6).

C.  Famines, earthquakes in many places (vs. 7).

D.  Hatred of Jesus, his followers and His nation of origin (vs. 9).

E.  The rise of false prophets deceiving many (vs. 11).

F.  The explosion of lawlessness world wide (vs. 12).

G.  Multitudes begin to lose the experience of love (vs.12).

But the one who endures to the end shall be saved (vs. 13)

H.  The world wide preaching of the gospel to all nations (vs. 14).

And then the end will come (vs. 14).

II.  The events taking place during the final period of time.

A.  The  appearance of the Antichrist (vs. 15).

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God 
(2 Thessalonians 2:1-4).

B.  The Seven Year Tribulation Period (vs. 21).

For at that time there will be great tribulation, the kind that has not taken place from the beginning of the world until now and never will again.  Unless those days were limited no one would survive.  But those days will be limited because of the elect 
(vs. 21-22).

III.  The Rapture of the church and the second coming of Christ.

Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in the sky, and then all the peoples of the earth will mourn and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  He will send out the angels with a loud trumpet and they will gather His elect from the four winds from one end of heaven to the other 
(Matthew 24:30 ).
