Transformed by the Word (Isaiah 55:6-13)
by James Strait 9/11/2011
I. There is a time to seek God.
A. God has been seeking you long before you began to seek Him.
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one
(Romans 3:10-12).
B. Seeking God with your whole heart you will find Him.
But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul
(Deuteronomy 4:29).
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart
(Jeremiah 29:13).
II. There are three decisions you must make in order to seek and find God.
A. You must forsake your ways, paths, habits that lead you away from God
vs. 7.
All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned everyone to his own way and the Lord has lain upon Him the iniquity of us all
(Isaiah 53:6)
They have all gone out of the way...
(Romans 3:12).
B. You must change your life by changing your thoughts.
The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: Gd is not in all his thoughts.
Psalms 10:4
How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them
(Psalms 139:17)
III. You will find God and be wonderfully changed when you are transformed by Word.
A. Let God's word work in your heart like the rain works upon the earth
vs. 10.
B. When you hear receptively, His word will activate the truth (seed) in your heart.
C. God's word will provide bread for the eater (your need) and seed for the sower (investment).
D. It is the Word (rhema) that God is speaking now that will transform you
(Mat. 4:4).
E. When you are being transformed by God's word your emotional life will change, your relationships will change, your circumstances will change.
You will be changed.
