Keys to Divine Intervention in our Lives
I.. When we are possessed of a hunger to hear the word of God that moves us
to ?press upon Him? (vs. 1 and Matthew 5:6; John 7:37; Isaiah
55:1-2).
Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall
be filled.
If any man thirst let him come unto me and drink?
Ho everyone that thirsteth come ye to the waters and ye who have no money,
come ye buy and eat, yea buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Wherefore do you spend money for that which is not bread? And your labor for
that which satisfies not? Hearken diligently to me and eat that which is good
and let your soul delight itself in fatness (Isaiah 55:1-2).
II. When we make available to God for His use what He has already given us
for our use.
There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but
what are they among so many (John 6:9)?
Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the
fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them
that had eaten (John 6:13).
And Elijah said unto her, Fear not go and do as thou hast said: but make
me thereof a little cake first, and bring it to me and after make for thee and
thy son. For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not
waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sends
rain upon the earth ( 1 Kings 17:13-14).
III. When obedience to God?s word is more important to us than our best
judgment, thoughts or experience.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto your own
understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths
(Proverbs 3:5-6).
Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto you, but say in a word
and my servant shall be healed (Luke 7:7).
IV. When the realization of who He is (the sinless Son of God), convicts us
of who we are, (a sinner who needs a savior) and that awareness brings us to our
knees.
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which
the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the
Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? And whosoever shall fall on this
stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to
powder (Matthew 21:42-3).
V. When we are willing to forsake all to follow Him wherever He may lead
us.
And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see
heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man
(Jn. 1:51).
