Savior Like a Shepherd 
(John 10:1-18)

I. There is only one way you can be safe within the fold of God (Psalms 95:7; 100:3).


For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand…
Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture (Psalms 100:3).


A. Jesus is the only way to God.

I am the way, the truth, the life no man comes to the Father but by me 9John 14:6).

B. There is no other way.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12).


II. There are four major benefits and privileges of being in His flock vs. 3.

A. The sheep hear His voice (Hebrews 5:11; John 16:12-13; Isaiah 30:21; Rev. 1:10).

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left (Isaiah 30:21).


B. He calls His own sheep by name (vs. 14 and Revelation 2:17).

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.


C. He leads them out.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God these are the sons of God (Romans 8:14).

D. As you follow the Shepherd you find in His pasture everything you need or want vs. 9

III. There are two major reasons you cannot afford to be out of His fold.

A. The wolves are just beyond the pasture vs. 12.

B. The thief is coming vs. 10.

IV. There is one major reason you should love Jesus and serve Him with all of your life.

As the Father knows me even so know I the Father & I lay down my life for the sheep.
